From Admin point of view what are all accounts that has super power. Right now my id is added as administrator operator group. But what if my account got locked? While training in adobe Campaign I undersatnd there is one user account not sure its "admin" at system level that has super powers and has all access to reset or unlock the accounts that are set up in administrator operator group.

Lets reply to this whatever you know about system / admin / install accounts that can be used for this purpose.

So far I know following account :-

Install Account :- neolane and apche

Administrator system acount  :- "admin", internal (how do we get the password for this as previous admin no longer works now). Is it safe to change the password for admin and internal?

Administrtor added manually :- users added to operator group "administrator"

Please add

Hi,

There are only 3 ootb operators/groups with ADMINISTRATION right in Campaign:

  • 'admin' group
  • 'admin' operator if it was created during install
  • 'internal' user, which is special as it's defined in config file, not operator table. Use only if everyone locks themselves out.

ADMINISTRATION right essentially means 'skip permission checks' in Campaign.

The neolane user and group are what the nlserver binary runs under in Linux or Windows.

Apache is web server software and is unrelated to Campaign ACL's other than it can serve as a frontend for HTTP/S traffic.

Thanks,

-Jon

Thank you .. Previous admin did not share the passwords for "admin and internal" account and currently he/she is no longer part of it. Now how do we get the password for these accounts ?

You can get the admin operator password in the instance document which is shared by the adobe team at the initial stage of the project. If you have access to the Server conf file. Kindly use the following link to reset the internal operator password.

https://docs.adobe.com/content/help/en/campaign-classic/using/monitoring-campaign-classic/troublesho...

In case if it is a hosted environment. Kindly raise a support ticket for the same.

Thanks!
