Offer engine on a separate server

Avatar

Level 2

Hi,

we are considdering installing offer engine on a separate server to allow for heavy inbound interaction. However, this may prove to be hard to pull through the organization and because of that we want to install it on the application server. This server currently runs our workflows etc. and may not be correctly dimensioned for inbound interaction thus leading to a later reinstall on stand alone server. If we decide to go through with a two step installation process, is it easy to move the offer engine to stand alone server on a later occasion? Can we move everything in it in packages? Anything in particular that we should have in mind?

Regards

Hi,

Yes, it's a matter of adding as many machines as you'd like, license-permitting. No packages or any effort needed.

On the new machines turn on the interactiond logging module and the web module.

Inbound interaction is designed for horizontal scaling, with queries being single row key lookups that are processed in js on the interaction server.

Doesn't have to touch the db at all for anonymous traffic.

Thanks,

-Jon

Thanks Jon for the reply! Does this mean that we can start it and then just move the live environment to a new server if and when we set that up? We dont need to go through any specific things to shut down the live environement in the pre existing server where we keep the design environment?
