Onboarded Trait Graph Help

Hello team,

Hoping someone could help me understand why our onboarded trait metrics do not seem to change.

Setup overview:

  • An ID sync with CRM ID is occurring when authenticating onsite into a global data source.
  • Traits are set with a target data source. We have multiple inbound files, target data source used to avoid unwanted overwrites.

When viewing the device ID settings, our unique trait realizations & total trait populations never change. My assumption was these would scale over time as customers authenticate and an ID sync is performed against our CRM ID. See image below:

device ID.JPG

Then when we view the Cross-Device ID view, our total trait population is all of the records we posted in our inbound file, but unique trait realizations do not fluctuate,

thanks!

Hi there,

Your understanding is right here i.e. when customers authenticate and an ID sync is performed against CRM ID,there should be an increase in device Id reporting but we have a catch here.

Previously ,we have trait reporting available only at device level. If we have onboarded a set of CRM ids, which are not synced and later on those users come online and we have an id sync in place then everything gets updated in our backend. However,in order to see the id synced data in device reporting,we need to onboard the synced ids again and then only data will be reflected in device reporting.

Thanks, Shweta,

So there's no way to tell how many users are in an onboarded trait in between file posting intervals? Assume I post a file one a once, that's a fairly long time to wait and seems to be a large gap in the product.

Hi there,

If we are onboarding Id synced  data, then we can definitely use trait reporting to validate number of users.

If the data onboarded is not id synced, then I am afraid it won't be reflected in device reporting. You can submit this feature as an idea using below link and our product team will definitely consider it.
