Table of Contents | Relative Panel ID Link

Avatar

Hi guys,

So I have created a report template for end users consisting of a panel with a number of data points within.

I have added in a text box to act as a Table of Contents to more easily navigate the report.

I have right-clicked within the template and added in the Visualisation/Panel links and within the template file the links navigate a user to the right place in the report when clicked.

However, when I use the template to create a new template the table of content links all try open up a new tab.

Any ideas how to create relative links that will work as a table of contents when a user uses the template to create a report?

Or will this need an update to the links each time the template is used to create a report?

I think your issue is somewhat related. The template is a special kind of AW project that allows you to build other projects with the same visualisations and layouts. But the panels in that new project are still specific to that project, so the TOC that is in the template and that uses the template's panels' links can't be replicated into that project.

Panel links work within the panels' AW project only. So if you use project B's panel links in project A, you should expect to open project A first, and the browser window then jumps to the linked panel.

I know this - this is however not what my issue is. I have a template that I want to have a table of contents for that links to different sections within the template. When I create a project using the template the table of contents links do not take a user to the section in the project but opens a blank new tab (I am assuming it is because it is trying to open the links in the template itself).
