Any tips to creating a custom reportlet or dashboard within Adobe Analytics that looks like a pie chart, representing New vs Return visitors?

Thanks!

Hi Matt,

You can also use the plugin getNewRepeat to get how many visitors are new vs return and therefore you will be able to create a pie chart in this report.

if you follow the link provided by Akhil : http://helpx.adobe.com/analytics/kb/comparing-new-visitors-to-return-visitors.html

You will be a able to see that you can extract this data via ReportBuilder as well. The idea will be to create :

1.a block with all the visits data (return and new) or all visitor data.

2.a block with only return visitors

3.a block with only new visitors

Then using Excel you can create a pie chart based on the data extracted.

Best regards.

Hi Matt,

Please refer to : http://helpx.adobe.com/analytics/kb/comparing-new-visitors-to-return-visitors.html

"SiteCatalyst does not have a report that explicitly compares new visitors to return visitors. However, you can obtain this information by minor calculations or segmentation."

Method 3: Use SiteCatalyst 15

This method allows comparison via two separate reports.

  1. Navigate to Site Metrics > Visitors, and then the desired unique visitors report.
  2. In the segment dropdown at the top, select the Image First Time Visits segment.
  3. Click the Dashboard button to add this reportlet to a dashboard.
  4. Select the segment dropdown at the top again, and create a segment.
  5. Select a  Visit container with the following rule:
    • Include Image Visit Container where visit number is greater than 1
  6. Apply this segment to the report, and add it to the same dashboard. The resulting dashboard shows both reports side-by-side, allowing comparison between the two.

Hope this helps and please mark it solved if it answer your query.

Thanks

Akhil
