When looking at this breakdown of the marketing channels and the Campaign ID report, with the click-through metric, I see some paid search campaign IDs with in this report. Is this any persisting data from previous touches to the site?

Yes, it depends on Campaign ID Expiration.

For example: if it's set for 1 day and in that period the user revisited the site from organic, then you'll see the described behavior.

This completely depends on how you define the marketing channel rule. You should be able to define the Marketing channel processing rule based on CIDs if you aligned that every paid search ends up in CID in URL parameter.

Apologies.. my question was not clear enough. My organic traffic channel when broken down by Campaign ID variable, there are some paid search Campaign ID click throughs in this report.
