eCommerce events on Pages report

When buying something we have different channels for product type. These channels are identifiable through pageName. I wanna know how many ScAdds and Purchases were made for each product type. I was confused when looking at Pages report and applying purchase and ScAdd metrics and comparing this report to Key Metrics report with the same metrics but with Segment applied that based on visit is defined as: pageName contains product type Id. I get completely different figures. The one with the segment is way higher as the one from the Pages report. 

I have to add that when events ScAdd and Purchase are fired, the requests do NOT contain the product type information in page name. Are the metrics in Pages report on hit level?

I am not sure how you have your implementation set-up, but Whenever you add metrics (like scAdd) to the Pages report, Adobe Analytics uses LINEAR allocation.  This means that if a visitor had viewed 10 pages prior to the scAdd event, each page would get .10 credit for the success and the Pages report woudl then round the number to the nearest whole number.  This is why it is dangerous to use metrics in the Pages report.  Instead, you can use Success Event Participation or you can use Product Merchandising with an eVar.

Ok, so this is the reason why the total figure for a metric is correct, whereas the distribution among the line items is different, because it depends on the views this item had before the event was fired. But then again the distribution among the line items must be equal to their page views, which isn't the case.
