Bots - Hundreds of IP Addresses that Change

Avatar

Level 1

Hello,

There is a significant amount of bot traffic hitting one particular page on my site. This traffic is coming from Typed/bookmarked, has 0 second visit duration, and views 1 page and leaves. The issue is so significant it's causing this to be the 2nd top entry page on the site. My issue is that when I pull these IP addresses from Data Warehouse, there are hundreds of them. When I change the time frame, some of them overlap but I see hundreds more. This would be really easy if it was just a few IP addresses to block, but it seems to be a dynamic list of IPs with all different domains, browsers and operating systems.

In this case, what can I do?

Thanks,

Cristine

Hi Cristine,

For the IP addresses that you mentioned, do they have a common string with the last octet different? example all IP address are of type 103.43.112.xx ?

If thats the case you might be able to use custom bot rules, the link for the documentation is - https://marketing.adobe.com/resources/help/en_US/reference/bot_rules.html

Let me know if this helps.

I see.

In this case I would request you to contact the ClientCare and maybe they would be able to do something from the backend.
