Hi @aagk123,

As @jeff_bloomer suggested you can use Visit number dimension to identify the number of visits made by the visitors and further you can use this to create your segment for visitors with exactly 3 visits as shown following-

Hope this helps.

Hi @aagk123 ,

For segmenting Visitors with only three visits to your site, select the top-level container as 'Visitor' and define the dimension 'Visit Number' with condition equals 3.

See below:

Thanks @nilotpal  Also can you say how visit number works. For example if a user visits first time he will have visit 1 and if he visits 2nd time he will have value visit 2. My doubt is when a user moves from visit 1 to visit 2 will that user be in still visit 1 or will he be completely removed from visit 1 bucket and moved to visit 2 bucket?

Hi @aagk123 ,

In Adobe Analytics, a visit is always linked with the time period, so you know whether to count a new visit if the same person returns to your site. For any visitor the a new visit starts (value incremented by 1) if any of the following conditions are met:

  • 30 minutes of inactivity: Almost all sessions end in this manner. If more than 30 minutes lapse between hits, a new visit begins.
  • 12 hours of activity: If a user consistently fires image requests without any 30-minute gaps for more than 12 hours, a new visit automatically starts.
  • 2500 hits: If a user generates a large number of hits without starting a new session, a new visit is counted after 2500 image requests.
  • 100 hits in 100 seconds: If a visit consists of more than 100 hits that occur in fewer than 100 seconds, the visit automatically ends. This behavior typically indicates bot activity, and this limitation is enforced to help increase report performance.

Suppose any of these conditions are met, then the visit number of the same visitor will get incremented by 1.

For example: Nilotpal made a first time visit to a site (say, https://experienceleaguecommunities.adobe.com). Now, the visit number associated to his profile will be 1. Later, he becomes inactive for 40 minutes and did some activity on the site, then the new Visit Number will be 2. However, his earlier hits will still be associated with Visit Number 1 and the latest hits with the latest visit number (i.e.; visit number 2).

Hope this was helpful.

For some reason my previous answer is not showing up anymore. If you are looking for a specific page instead of the whole website, you can utilize a Sequential Segment that includes Visitors who have opened the page thrice but excludes Visitors who have been to the page four times. Something like:
