Domain Change

We are changing our domain for a website, but all other things will remain the same (paths, etc.).

The address of our website will be changed in April. Our address now:  www.ingbank.com.tr

and we are going to change to www.ing.com.tr. At this point, how do we have to follow a way to continue using Adobe Analytics without losing any data?

  • There could be various dependencies in the implementation logic tied to the site URL.
  • Segments and Classification may also rely or depend on URL.
  • Do not forget to review external and internal filters in the implementation and report suite configuration.
  • Review dependency on cookies if they are used.

It's hardly possible to give you a precise answer as this type of transition requires a thorough implementation audit to prepare a checklist of what has to be updated prior (and maybe after) the transition to a new domain.

During the transition, the major impact will be that it will consider visitor on the new domain as all new visitors because cookies was created on the old domain
