CJA Array Performance Threshold

Avatar

On experience league documentation, Adobe suggests that an array with more than 10 fields in it exceeds their recommended performance threshold. Given that we have exceeded other thresholds and seen no problem, I was curious if anyone has ingested data into CJA in the form of an array with 10+ items within the array. If so, were there any issues?

Hi @WilliamBr6 ,

do you have a link to the documentation you are referring to? As with many other guardrails in the Experience Platform, some are hard and some are soft. Soft guardrails may at some point impact your dashboard performance.

You can have a look the Performance (Help > Performance) overview of your dashboard and see if there are any red lights.

Hi @bjoern__koth,

The link to the documentation can be found here: Default Guardrails for Real-Time Customer Profile Data and segmentation | Adobe Experience Platform

I was specifically referring to the array cardinality for an experience event section. We are willing to sacrifice performance, however I'm concerned that if we have an array with up to 100 items that it will fully not work rather than just working slow.

Additionally, will the impact to performance just be when using that field, or as long as it is in the system all analysis will be impacted?

Thanks

These are essentially two different things I think. The guardrail is more for the Profile Service in the RT-CDP and less for CJA itself, though I can imagine that it might impact CJA performance as well.
