Understanding on Direct or Typed/Bookmarked

Any analyst or business practitioner would have asked to explain what is Direct in the Marketing Channel or Typed/Bookmarked in Source Of Traffic. We'd have clarified the 'Type the URL directly in the browser tab' or 'Tap the Bookmark in the browser window'. But we know that is not the ideal world situation.

So what is it in an ideal world and what are the scenarios?
