Determine SAINT upload Status and Optimize Processing Time

Processing time for a SAINT file varies on the size of the file and the number of SAINT files that Adobe's servers are processing. Classification uploads usually take no longer than 72 hours to process.

In SiteCatalyst 14, uploads are processed in a queue. Once complete, they are available in the interface. SiteCatalyst 15 and Discover process SAINT uploads in six-hour increments, updated four times a day.

Determine when an upload finishes

To check and see if a classification file has finished uploading, do the following:

  1. Log in to SiteCatalyst and go to Admin > SAINT Classifications.
  2. Under any of the tabs, select the report suite and data set in question.
  3. If processing is not complete, either one of the following messages appear:

The selected report has a SAINT import that is processing.
The selected report has SAINT data that hasn't propagated to all servers yet.

  4. No message appears if processing is complete.

Minimize SAINT processing time

Adobe strongly recommends that you use the following guidelines to prevent increased processing times.

  • Upload only changed rows: This setting greatly reduces the amount of time it takes to process SAINT files, since it doesn't sort through unchanged rows. Classifications not specified in an upload do not remove classification data.
  • Uploading data in smaller components: Breaking a file into 2-MB files greatly decreases processing time. The size of a file exponentially increases its processing time.
