How to create a report for Entry page = x then user did Y

Hi,

I am trying to create a specific report and was hoping for some advice.

What I am trying to do is see how many users entered on a specific page and then viewed another specific page in the next page view. For ease, lets use the homepage as the entry page and a product page as the "other" page.

If I create a segment that is:

Entry page = homepage

then within 1 page view

page = product page

this won't give me what I am looking for because entry page is a visit level dimension, so if the user went to the homepage > Results page > Product page, this would count in the segment.

So, if I create a segment using hit depth, would that work? For example:

Container:

     Entry page = homepage

     page = homepage

     hit depth = 1

then within 1 page view

page = product page

Any help/advice would be great.

Thank you.

Thanks.

When using that segment, I get data back that looks like it could be correct, so I assume it is. I just wanted to make sure the logic I was using for the segment made sense (especially around hit depth).

Thanks for your help.

Hi Frank, your sequential segment is exactly what I would do. Did it work for you?
