I've just noticed an update and I'm not thrilled with it... @Maddy Martin included a screenshot of what search was up until today (at some point). I was really enjoying that because it showed me recent projects before I even typed anything, then when I began typing it automatically showed me everything related to that word or words without even pressing enter. Now, when I type the second word, anything that had populated goes away completely. Previously I could open results (in a new tab) and then 'X' out and still be on the page I had been on. Now, when I hit enter it takes me away to a screen that looks marginally like the old Search in Classic. I liked the new version a lot better and thought it functioned much more efficiently. Now it feels like we've stepped back...but not quite to Classic. Lots of seemingly random changes happening without warning... Brandon Hamm Bravo Group

We are still having trouble with recents as well. Our work around is that when we select the object in recents, then the url changes but does not refresh the browser page, so if you click in the url field and select enter the browser page refreshes and takes you to the recent object. Hope this gets fixed soon. Liisa Blick

We're experiencing this as well. When you click on a search result, you have to click the X to exit the Search "window" and you'll see the search result opened behind it. After you click on a result, like in the example below, you'll notice the page URL changes to the object you clicked on and the browser tab updates to the correct result as well. The search window is just covering everything.

Hi All, Unfortunately we were not able to get a quick fix deployed to your production instance for this issue. As part of our weekly updates to the new experience beta that occur on Thursdays, we will be turning on a new search experience that is currently available in your Preview instance. The update occurs overnight tonight and should be available for US customers in the morning. This will ensure we resolve the issue you are experiencing now with the search window not closing without a page refresh or hitting the close button. Also, the new search experience will provide the following benefits based on many of your feedback items during this beta:

Quickly search in the top navigation and see typeahead suggestions grouped by object
Open the Search Results in a full page allowing you to navigate back and forth from the Search Results page and other pages using the Back or Forward button in your browser
Open Advanced Search by clicking a link at the bottom of the Search menu
Filter search results using the same filters available in Workfront Classic

The one thing I'm not crazy about in the updated search interface is that I can't open an object in a new tab from the search dropdown. If my search gives me multiple results and I want more than one of them open, I have to open multiple pages and repeat my search on each page. Or if I don't want to navigate away from my current page, I have to open a new tab and start my search there. It's very inefficient.

Hi Brandon, Thank you for this feedback. This feedback helps us ensure we continue to improve our Search experience and keep quick access to Recents. The search dropdown does display your Recents until you start typing as you mentioned. We have been receiving high volumes of feedback stating that access to your search results is needed. The old method as you mentioned required you to open a new browser tab to keep open your search results. This update today provides you the opportunity for a full page search with easy access to return to your search results in the same browser tab. We would love to talk with you more to understand your feedback further. Please let me know and I can set up time to discuss further with you. Josh Boston Workfront
