Hi All,We have done custom login to authenticate against Oracle DB via web service. This was done in AEM 5.6 and now the we have upgraded to AEM 6. The custom login is not working. I understand that in AEM 6  we need to re-create the custom login. Can you share some details on how to achieve this? Any documentation/help would be appreciated.Regards,Ramki

How do I setup LDAP group sync/creation in AEM 6.1?The AEM rights are managed via AD groups I'd like to have them first of all imported if they don't exist (currently on 5.5 happens automatically using :  autocreate="create", autocreate.path="splitdn") .I get users created in AEM 6.1 also name, firstname, lastname and email filed in but I don't get this thing to create groups.

Hi,I have a scenario where I have Item detail pages that should be available in 3 different regions, and the components allowed should be per region. In a first look I think this can be done with only one template right? Setting different allowed components in the parsys for each region? But for this I would need to have one design for each region. Am I going into the right approach?Thanks

Hi All,I have configured two links using anchor tags using Rich text component.I could see the source code of added links using source button available on Rich Text dialog.Now i want to call JS function on clicking of this links,i have added js function to this source code.When i am clicking on the links it's giving below error."Uncaught TypeError: Cannot read property 'dom' of null "How to call JS function?Please help me in this regard.Thanks,Kishore

Hi, While we create a new page via the siteadmin, a dialog pops out with Title and Name text fields. But, for past few days, only the Title field is displayed and not the Name. There has not been any overlay of the siteadmin related JS. No changes in user permissions too. Confused if something was changed accidentally. Hey guys,  Is it advisable to utilize CQ's user session management to handle public login users ? We have a external authentication mechanism, but there is no session handling involved in the authentication. I'm thinking of using CQ's inbuilt functionalities to handle user session. I'm estimating about max 5000 concurrent users across a stickied 4 publisher environment. Would it work ? is it best to write a custom session handler ?  Thanks ! 

Hi All,I have created a simple template and this template is associated with a component jsp.This page is three sections header,parsys and footer.If i create this page with this template,template is rendering as expected in classic UI and in touch UI it's showing blank.Do i need to make configurations to template/configurations?Thanks,Kishore.

What API and which copy() method I can use to copy creating version if exist? I am trying with API to copy asset from one to another DAM place and I want if there it already exist with same name etc, should create a version and copy new asset as new version. Rohan.

I want to create a custom column component for AEM and have a fixed number of columns to choose from. Also - i want to be able to choose from a selection of colors for the border. How can i achieve this use case?

I have created a group for authors. I want everyone in this group to be able to "Create", "Modify" and "Delete" the content at a specific path. I have given Create/Modify/Delete access to this group. But when I login into AEM as one of these users, I see that the delete button is disabled. The delete button becomes active if I give "Replicate" permission to the group.  I think the "Replicate" permission is only to replicate the page to publish environment. Please let me know why "Replicate" permission is required for Authors (who are just content authors and not publishers) or if it has any other significance that I am not aware of.

Hi,I have created a workflow process using Java API in AEM6.1. When I build the bundle I get the error which is " Unable to compile the Activator.java class in ASM ? (Class doesnt support the property) ". I checked the bundle information in Felix it show active state. At the same time I also checked the information in service and components tab but no information is available.OS :  Win7Java Version : 1.8Please help me to resolve this issue,ThanksSumit

Hi, guysMy component folder is missing on CRXDE Lite but i can see/navigate the component folder in Content Explorer. also, all components are working on sidekick and existing pages. My project is maven based and i use command line to deploy in CQ5. In addition i already checked the maven POMs and content/dialogs and didnt find any inconsistence. Does anyone have any clue what may be the problem?

We have recently experienced versioning corruption in our authoring environment (due to a hard crash on low disk space). It is producing 'inexistent parent id (may be orphaned)' errors in /version when doing startup repository checks.Is it possible to 'reset' versioning? I tried restoring a version folder from a known good backup, and removing it entirely, with no success.Thanks in advance.Dave

Hi,We have the need to store a large number of users in an external system, and restrict areas of our CQ powered site to those users. It looks like the Closed User Group feature is a good fit for this. It also looks like we can create a custom Login Module to authenticate users against the external system.I'm not clear though how the users would be tied against the closed user group mechanism. It seems that when you define a CUG the ACLs for the tree are updated to restrict access to the group, which is reasonable enough. However, am I right in thinking for the ACL permissions to work the users and groups would need to by synced to the JCR from the external system, similar to how the LDAP LoginModule does ? Or in other words, is it possible to keep all user and group membership details isolated in the external system while using the CUG facility ?Thanks. 

Hi,I am trying to create custom multifield component which also includes smartfile component.  The smartfile component however does not show the drag and drop panel. It just shows a rectangular dotted box without the drag and drop icon. My javascript code is attached.  Please let me know what is wrong in the smartfile - why does it not show the drag and drop panel for me to drop images.I am not able to proceed in my project due to this hurdle.  Any suggestions is most appreciated.Thanks,Sumathi

 I would like to continue adding client library files to JSPs as follows:  <cq:includeClientLib js="some-category" />But I need to have control over the attributes in the resulting script include. In other words I might want to see<script type="application/javascript" async defer data-attr="somedata" src="<path to clientlib.min.js></script>I have not seen any document that explains how to achieve this. I was hoping for something similar to adding classes for cq:htmlTag. Clearly I could do this manually by adding the script tag myself, and manually adding the path to the clientlib, but then I lose the ability to reference by category, which is my major use case for using clientlibs.Thanks,Matt

Hi,We have a requirement where we need to provide authentication in the publish sites. Users are allowed to access the pages only when they are authenticated by entering the credentials. These credentials are stored in LDAP.Our understanding is we have log in components which are available already in geometrixx sites but these log in components validate the user credentials present in AEM publish instance.  We need to leverage these login components along with the LDAP configuration in publish instance. Does this requires any custom development? Can we provide the log in functionality in Publish directly just by configuring LDAP? What are the steps for configuring LDAP in Publish instance? I tried the steps which we used in author instance but it is showing blank page.Thanks,Maruthi

Hi all.I need to have different products exposed in a format like the following:/products/<code>.htmlProducts are stored on repository with this format:/products/<code_letter1>/<code_letter2>/<code_letter3>/<code>We don't want to have the 3 extra paths in the final URL.So first idea would be to define a vanity URL for every product. Having up to 10.000 products I mind if this can be a performance issue.Then... is there a smarter approach, for example some sling mapping rule that can convert an incoming URL  in the format  /products/code.html  in --->   products/c/o/d/code?Clearaly also generated URLs should be rewritten with the same rule, but this can be handled at application layer if necessary,We are using CQ 5.6.1Any help will be appreciated.thanksIgnazio
