Hi EveryOne ,I have a servlet that uses some request parameters and based on that sets a JSON Response.Is it possible to use this in my JSP (I do not have a form) . I want to invoke the servlet by passing the parameters and obtain the JSON Response and display this content on my JSP. I dont want to copy the same code to my JSP because this servlet is already being used by several classes and hence would like re-use the same. Thanks in  AdvanceHarish

Hi All,       We have a requirement to capture the events (like create/modify/delete of pages and nodes) happening on CQ author instance along with their paths,metadata and page properties associated with the resources. I want to have a series of checkboxes to let users select one or more social networks (e.g. Facebook, Twitter, and Google+). By default all three should be selected. If I define my widget as follows:<socialWidgets  jcr:primaryType="cq:Widget" xtype="selection" type="checkbox" options=".../myOptions.json" defaultValue="[facebook,twitter,googleplus]" value="[facebook,twitter,googleplus]" />When all three items are deselected, rather than submitting a null/empty/blank value, the default value is submitted instead.What am I doing wrong here?Thanks.

I am setting up an image preset in Scene7, and want to have it add a background image to each base image. This is what I have so far: layer=0&src=is{background/2014-CN-bg-dark-brown} I will need something like this I assume: layer=0&src=is{Backgrounds/bg-dark-brown}&layer=1&src=is{THE PRODUCT} I guess my question is, what's the name of the reference to the image you're calling the image preset on?

Hi Guys, We are at verge of starting new project in AEM 5.6 and are confused in deciding which persistence manager to use. Can any one please suggest/recommend which  persistence manager will be best suited for mid-sized AEM 5.6 project ? Shall we go for default TarPM persistence manager or it would be good to use RDBMS based persistence manager like MYSQL. Thanks,Madhav

While following the documentation about "Creating and Applying a Closed User Group", at the bottom of the page it says that you have to use the "sessionmanagement" dispatcher configuration to get it to work.Because it prevents the dispatcher from caching (everything in this farm) I don't really want to use it, so I'm trying to find information about what it actually does. The documentation about "Configuring Dispatcher" says that it is used for the "support for session management and authentication". But that doesn't make any sense to me - the publish instance is taking care of session management and authentication. On top of that, if I just leave out that configuration and only set allowAuthorized to "0" the dispatcher does exactly what I want: caching everything for unauthenticated access and caching nothing for logged-in users.So the question is: What exactly does the "sessionmanagement" dispatcher setting do and what could happen if I just leave it out?

Is there a way how assignee of the particular workflow participant's step can see who actually launched the workflow, i.e. assigned that step to him?

Hi,I want to add an item to flash files metadata. Followed DAM documentation and created folder structure as 'apps/dam/content/asseteditors/video/swf/formitems'. But when I open the .swf asset file in DAM, the custom metadata is not getting accessed, it is accessing 'apps/dam/content/asseteditors/formitems' not even 'apps/dam/content/asseteditors/video/formitems'.Any suggestions??Thanks,Venu

In a standard installation of CQ 5.6.1 the sites on the Author environment fails when accessed through a touch device (i.e. iPhone 4). The following error can be observed in the console:Uncaught TypeError: Cannot read property 'launchSidekick' of undefinedThis also happens on the Geometrixx demo sites.

Hello,We use CQ5.5 and have one single Author instance that replicates to two publish instances.Our users (Authors) are stored locally on the CQ5.5 Author instance, NOT in LDAP.There appears to be no requirements for password strength or aging in the CQ5.5 Author instance.Would someone please let me know how we can implement enforcement of password requirements such as strength and aging for our Authors passwords?Thank you.- Chris

Our users were running into an issue where the default "future deactivation" workflow was not running at the set time. However, i tested it and it seemed to be working fine. The only difference is that some of the pending workflows that the users had created had a different payload that was a url to wcmcommand -/bin/wcmcommand?cmd=open&path=%252Fcontent%252Finfocenter%252F ... (rest of the path) ... &_charset_=utf-8.htmlwhile all of my workflow instances had the expected/content/infocenter/...I saw this post that described why the url does not work correctly, but i'm not sure why that payload is being set with /bin/wcmcommand in the first place? With that payload it doesn't seem to run the future deactivation workflow when the time is up.Thanks

Hi, I have a page which has a number of node components underneath it. The problem I have is when the page gets activated one of these component nodes refuses to be activated. I have looked at logs but cannot find anything obvious.Any help is appreciated.Chris

Hi,I am not sure if this is the correct place to ask. I am using CA siteminder for authentication. So after successful login I am supposed to get logged in user name from siteminder header. So if the target url is a Jboss application the in HttpServletRequest object request.getHeader("sm_user") returns an encrypted value. whereas if I target url is CQ5 application page then on that page slingRequest.getHeader("sm_user") returns unencrypted value of user name. I have a question regarding CQ Client Libraries.  I currently am implementing a hybrid approach. For Example,We have client libraries folders under each one of our componentsWe also have a client library folder under our /etc/designs folder.  This folder embeds teh client library categories specified inside the apps/components directory. My question is this, using this approach is there a way to only include the client libraries for the components that are actually authored onto the page? Any help you can give would be greatly appreciated!

Hi,I raised an earlier question about having a component named comments. From what I can see in the activation logs there is a filter (5.6.1) on the node name 'comments' and this will not automatically be published when the page is published, this was not a problem in 5.5. I have tried to change the component name to something else and have managed to activate the page with the new component name. Hi everybody!I'm using com.day.cq.search.QueryBuilder to search for pages and documents. The page search (type=cq:Page) works just fine and results hits return excerpts just fine via getExcerpt(). But I have an issue with getting excerpts (that show a part of the text where the search term was found) after searching for DAM assets (type=dam:Asset). The assets are PDFs, DOCs, PPTs and XLSs, so there actually is no issue with getting the results I was looking for. The right files with the term within the files are found - so it DOES the "inner" search, I just can't get where it finds it. The problem is that the hits' excerpts are blank, empty strings (""). I tried getExcerpts() method that returns a Map<String, String> of excerpts, but nothing useful was inside. I can't use com.day.cq.wcm.foundation.Search because of other issues and because it's not as modifiable as QueryBuilder. Can anybody help me with this please?

Hi,It looks like setting and retrieving a request attribute is a good way to pass data between several .jsp files in a component. I am trying to pass a Page object and keep getting a "type mismatch". I'm sure its something simple, but I couldn't find that exact use case googling around a bit.So in jsp 1 the setting code is:request.setAttribute("page", page);in jsp 2 the getting code is:Page myPage = request.getAttribute("page");Thanks!- Dmitry
