I use a lot of 4k and 2.7k footage, from GoPro and GarminVIRB cameras; those have apps that save whatever chunks I need at their full res to the camera roll. I then use Clip to stitch, add sound, effects etc.

I've tested outputting to Camera Roll, Dropbox and "Send to Prem Pro CC" and all 3 are simple Full HD, 1920x1080.
Using "Send to CC" you can then change the format of the sequence that is generated, using PremPro, but I'm no pro and that has proven a pain in the ass.
Would be great if you could set the output resolution of the Clip app - "same as source" would be best option, but really do need built-in support for 4k and 2.7k output to be happy with it...

Shame...
