When have you switched AI tools, and what made you do it?

I used ChatGPT for a long time before switching to Claude. Now, Claude is my BFF and I’ve got a ton of custom skills, memory, projects -- basically a whole system set up for how I work.

But then this month I ran out of capacity in Claude and was forced to switch 😅  

 

It got me thinking about how some tools are better for specific things and how you select what to work in, when, and why. A year ago I wasn't thinking about any of this. Now I've got real time and effort invested in one tool, and figuring out when to branch out (or start over somewhere else) feels like its own skill.

 

So I'm curious: have you switched AI tools, or do you bounce between a few? What made you try something different, and how did you figure out what works best for what?

    One rule of thumb that I follow is Claude has better Emotional Quotient (EQ), ChatGPT has better IQ. 

     

    If you are building out a marketing campaign with these AI tools, Claude would be good at creating the campaign artifacts - ICP, Messaging, Content - and ChatGPT better at deploying and operationalizing the campaign for better ROI. Ofcourse, these powerful AI tools should be bound within current enterprise marketing workflows with the right tooling to manage agent creation and deployment. AI tools themselves will not enable enterprise marketing to scale.

     

    Also, you can use ChatGPT for prompt generation for Claude projects. Example, ChatGPT generates system prompts for agents that you then want to create with Claude that can better emote these agents.

      I mostly use CLI tools, started with Claude Code but recently leaning more towards using Codex since about a month or so. The one key difference has been about the limits, Codex continue working until the plan is done while Claude just stops right there in the middle.
