How Gamification Works in the New Experience League Community

As part of our Community refresh, you’ll notice an updated gamification system. Our goal remains the same: to recognize helpful contributions, highlight expertise, and provide clear pathways for members to participate and grow. 

Whether you’re brand new or a long-time contributor, we want you to feel seen, appreciated, and supported — and our system is designed to reflect that. 

Why Gamification Is Changing 

The previous gamification model was closely tied to our old platform. With the transition to a new one, we needed to align with updated capabilities for how participation is recognized. These changes allow us to: 

• Continue recognizing helpful contributions 

• Clearly showcase helpful answers and experts 

• Establish a foundation for future recognition moments 

As part of this update, some members may notice changes to their current rank or badges. We’ve done our best to maintain continuity wherever possible and keep rank levels aligned to your historical participation. 

How You Earn Recognition 

You’ll continue earning recognition for the kinds of contributions that have always been at the heart of this Community — helping others learn, solve problems, and connect. 

Here are some of the activities that help build your presence and credibility: 

✔ Answering Questions 

Providing solutions and sharing knowledge is one of the most impactful ways to contribute. 

✔ Receiving Appreciation from Other Members 

When other members mark your contributions as helpful, it signals value to the entire Community. These moments play a role in how the system recognizes expertise. 

✔ Starting New Conversations 

Great questions spark learning. Posting topics creates space for exploration, troubleshooting, and collective problem-solving. 

Understanding Ranks 

Ranks represent your experience and participation in the Community. As you contribute, your rank grows. Higher ranks help your contributions stand out, build trust with other members, and signal your expertise in certain product areas. 

Celebrating Achievements With Badges 

Badges highlight meaningful milestones in the Community. You’ll earn badges for a variety of meaningful activities, such as: 

• Contributing helpful replies 

• Asking meaningful questions 

• Authoring solutions 

Badges are a fun way to track your journey, showcase your strengths, and celebrate the ways you’ve helped others. 

What’s Different From Before? 

As part of this update, we will be migrating historical contributions throughout the week so your past activity and associated rank are reflected.

Some members may notice small changes to their current rank or badges. We reviewed historical activity carefully and aimed to keep things as consistent as possible. 

While not everything transferred exactly as before, your past contributions and expertise remain just as valued in the Community.
