Selecting multiple non-contiguous rows

When you have to select multiple non-contiguous rows, the tool tends to be very specific about when you click - anywhere but specifically in the checkbox causes you to lose all the previously selected rows. It would be helpful it the selection range around the checkbox be increased and/or allow the user to click within the applicable row to select the content you're interest in.
