"Must Do's" for a First Timer at Summit!

I am super excited to be attending my very first Adobe Summit this year.

I would love to hear what should be on my “must do” list!

It can be anything -- Vegas recommendations, sessions/panels, booths, swag to pick up 😉

Ahh! I’m so excited for you! I am really hoping that there is Marketo swag this year! I would recommend you do not miss Summit Sneaks. It’s so entertaining and really fun to see the teams demo the products they’ve been working on.

Yay!

So, the first thing… Pick up your Badge early!  Like on Saturday or Sunday if you can… the lines on Monday morning are intense, and if you might end up missing breakfast cause you have to run to your first session!

Also, strangely, some people miss this.. but Breakfast and Lunch are provided at the conference (it’s in the lower level, and the first morning, there should be Adobe people with big signs directing people where to go)

Also, this is no joke… make sure you plan your suitcase accordingly so you can get all your swag home!  I fly down with only a personal bag (no carry on), and my suitcase has a lot of spare space in it. I also pack a carry on bag (for me it’s usually a duffle bag, but if you have a hard shell bag, pack it, and then pack it in your big luggage) so that I have all the space to get the stuff home - you will get swag for being an attendee, and all the vendors have swag to give away… you will probably end up with enough t-shirts and socks to last you a month 😂

Also, I cannot stress this enough… bring comfortable shoes (and at least one change of shoes)… you will be on your feet most of the day, and you’ll feel it.. I often like to switch up shoes from day to evening… and if you are planning on going to the pool… bring a nice pair of sandals that can double as a slipper in your hotel room (if you like slippers when you get up)

Bring a first aid kit with some basics - band aids, pain killers, etc (in case you get blisters… also why multiple shoes is a good idea.. what works at home can be very different in the hot and dry climate of the desert)

Also, bring a water bottle to stay hydrated, there are fill up stations everywhere.

Question on what to expect Monday AM at registration… this is my first Summit and my travel options were limited. I’m landing at 9am-ish. Should be to the conference center by 9:30.

How long do you think registration will take? Also, is there a place to leave luggage? My hotel check in isn’t until later in the day.

opps @BrandonFa6 I missed this, but answered your other post. For those here.. as far as I know, there is no “Luggage Check” on Monday, only on Wednesday for those departing (usually the registration room becomes the luggage check).

Your hotel should have a luggage check, possibly for a charge, but at the very least expect to tip the staff when you pick up your bags.

Registration on the first morning is usually very busy, but I’ve usually seen it as people are trying to register to get to breakfast, things may have quieted down by the time you arrive and people are going to their sessions… but I don’t know… it may still be a zoo.

Definitely be sure to sign up for any of the “roadmap” sessions for products you’re using. That’s where all the fun stuff is announced.

If those sessions are full, add yourself to the waitlist! I’ve gotten into quite a few sessions and labs having been on the waitlist.

Eric Matisoff wrote a blog post for sessions that are giving out swag, and some details about the Adobe Booth and Lounge:

One must-do at Summit is checking out the free certification exams on the 5th floor! You can take any certification for free and get some awesome Adobe Certified swag after you pass your exam 🙌

Or, you can come by and say hi to see what exciting things the certifications team has planned. See you there!

I was checking that out today… it doesn’t look like all certifications will be available? At least according to the app… For Adobe Analytics, I only saw three listed:

Business Practitioner Professional

Business Practitioner Expert

and

Data Analyst

I didn’t see the Architect or Developer Cert tests listed….

Hi Jennifer! Thanks for asking about this. Those are just the highest demand exams that we have highlighted. You will be able to take any exam within the Adobe Experience Cloud. So you will be able to take any Adobe Analytics exam. Spread the word!
