Know Before You Go For the First Time to Adobe Summit!
Last year was my first ever in-person summit. Although it can get quite overwhelming at first, knowing few key details can really help you keep the experience as exciting and smooth as you expect it to be. Below are my slightly unconventional key takeaways (aside from the great tips already shared by amazing Advocates).
- 🚩Collect Your Badge Early - If you are reaching a day early, badge collection is available often available from the evening before. To save yourself from the agony of waiting in long queues the morning of day 1 of summit and losing on precious time that you can otherwise use in networking, make sure to collect your badge early.
- ⌚Arrive Early for Keynote Sessions - If you plan on attending Keynote sessions, arrive early as the seats fill up fast and you may end up getting locked out of the room. But hey, there is a silver line, if you do end up getting locked out of keynote session anyway, use that time to network (like I did :) ). As there are no breakout sessions going on during that time, you can go to community Pavilion and meet the amazing folks manning the booths over there.
- 📱Download Summit App - This should really be the number one tip! Download Adobe Summit app as soon as it is available as it will give you all the key information such as session rooms, floor maps and even send you notifications on key events. They also had a dedicated slack channel last year which I am sure would return this year too where you can meet & greet fellow attendees. Don’t forget to introduce yourself!
- 🏣Get to Know Venetian - Especially if you are vising Vegas for the first time, the whole vibe of Strip & Venetian can be quite overwhelming. It is a good idea to use the evening before to collect your badge (as stated previously) and get to know the floors & breakout session rooms of Venetian. You can see from the summit app, which floors hands-on-labs and sessions that you are interested in are happening. By the way, ditch those pointy formals and wear comfortable walking shoes as you need to be prepared to have 14-15K steps clocked in one day.
- 📒 Keep Good Space in your Phone for those Amazing Photos! - Maybe not very conventional one but you would end up taking so many photos in your phone as you would be spotting folks you admire on LinkedIn (kind tech celebrities) and you wouldn’t want to miss a chance to take selfies with them! So keep that space in your phone and be prepared to take home with you tonnes of great memories that you will cherish for a long long time!
Also, don’t Miss the Sphere Displays especially on the night of Bash as it would lit up with Adobe colours. Most importantly, have fun as this is an amazing experience to be had one you would reminisce about for long time even after it is over!
Looking forward to reading in comments your unconventional tips!

Best,
Isha
